Recently we were broiling Lamb Chops in our oven and suddenly the Smoke Alarm tent office off! We had not been informed how to turn it off, much less that we had to notify the dispatcher about the incident. We fiddled and fuse could not get it to turn off. Suddenly there was a fire engine and a police car and the assistant fire chief at our front door. Even he did not know how to turn off the alarm.
Monday after the incident we called Mission Valley Security, at the request of the Fire Dept.
Bill Koberg (kobe@ronan.net) of Mission Valley Security came over Tuesday morning, gave us a lesson on how to turn the alarm off and inserted a sticker in the front cover that describes the procedure and also handed us a copy of the proposal. Those instructions are:
In the event of a smoke alarm being activated, please use the following instructions.
1. Go to keypad located by main entrance
2. Enter code '1-2-3-4'
3. Push the 'CLEAR' button on the keypad
4. Push the 'CLEAR' and 'ENTER' button at the same time and hold until you hear three rapid beeps. This should silence the horn in the smoke detectors.
5. Make sure all smoke is cleared from room or alarm may reactivate.
Bill is to give Marie Grimm, our property manager, stickers with the above information for each owner to place in their Security Alarm cover.. You can pick them up from Lambros Property Management at the same time you pick up your gate opener and security code for the gate.

The last paragraph of the proposal requests information for a local contact. It should be noted that the Lambros Property Management Company (Marie Grimm, Manager) can be used as your local contact. Marie has access to keys to all units. They will only access the units in case of an emergency! If there is a non-emergency reason for entry to your unit, you will be contacted for your permission to enter the unit.....
It should also be noted that your Association has Mission Valley Security under contract to perform the Fire Protection Alarm services. Should you wish other services you should contact Mission Valley directly (see Proposal for details).

Proposal For: Bear Harbor Condominium Owners

Mission Valley Security has wired all units at Bear Harbor for security. We have also installed the smoke detectors in each unit for fire protection. Please find a brief description enclosed on how to silence your smoke detectors in the event of an alarm. When you choose to have your new home equipped with a security system by Mission Valley Security, the fire and security will operate in conjunction with each other. Please find below a brief description of the items to be installed to give you a complete security system.
Home Security
The principal security coverage in your new home will be with motion detectors. The system for your unit is designed to have a motion detector cover the front entrance and living room area. The final motion detector will be placed in the master bedroom. We have also wired the unit to add another keypad to the master bedroom. This will give you the ability to arm your system at night. The main door to the unit has also been wired to have a switch installed in it. Once these items are installed, you will have a complete security system that will give you the peace of mind that your home is protected while you are away, or if you choose, while you sleep. Below, please find an equipment list of items needed to complete your system and the total installed price to you as the homeowner.

Monthly Monitoring
Mission Valley Security monitors all of our accounts locally. This provides you with the quickest possible response time in the event of an alarm. The fee for monitoring the security system in your new home is $17.50 per month.

We are requesting you forward the following information to us at your earliest convenience. This information is strictly confidential, but necessary for us to be better prepared in the event of a fire alarm in your absence. We are also requesting that owners supply us with the name of a local contact in the Polson area who has a key to your unit or provide us with a key to the unit to be used for the express purpose of fire alarm investigation and resetting in your absence.
